We expected the successor to the Ferrari Enzo, for now a model referred to as the 2014 Ferrari Enzo F70, to be the showstopper of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Finally seeing the real car will be good news whenever it happens, but even better news is that Inside Line has just reported that the F70 will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
2014-Ferrari-Enzo-Front
Industry insiders reveal that the next generation Enzo is indeed in the works. A prototype test mule in Germany reveals the Ferrari’s traditional flat front nose, tapered headlights, and rear wings resembling the earlier 458. The prototype was seen sporting components and assemblies probably taken from previous Ferrari models. Motor Trend speculates that the next-gen Enzo will probably be equipped with the 6.2-liter V12 engine just like the F12 Berlinetta.
Powertrain
Considering how the last Enzo smashed its peers in our tests, setting 0–60 mph, quarter-mile and slalom records, we’d expect no less from its replacement. If so, look for the F70 to run sub-2.5 seconds from 0–60 mph, under 9.9 sec. to the quarter mile and faster than 77.2 mph through our slalom. These numbers may seem unattainable, yet Ferrari engineers continue to amaze us by delivering them.
Exterior and Interior
We have no knowledge what the gigundously great coupe will appearance like – the version above is the work of KGP Photography, whose spy firearms have shot quite a number of prototypes hidden under huge quantities of camo. We do know it will have a carbon fiber chassis with a Formula One style form established by one of the key players in the F1 team – the chassis would be 20 % lighter than the Enzo’s, yet stiffer. Inside it will be approximately like 900 horsepower unchecked as of a mid-mounted V12 assisted by an progress of energy redeveloping HY-KERS unit. Weight for the full car has been reported to arrive in a snort-inducing 2,500 pounds.
Others
Although the heavily clad test mule reveals few specifics regarding the styling of the new Enzo, our artist was able to pull enough details to pen an illustration on what the upcoming Ferrari might look like. If rumors prove true, look for the all-new Enzo, F70, or whatever clever name the Italians come up with, to bow at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. And with all the mules running about, that prediction looks to be true.
